When On GoogleEarth 113

For the second time I have to host "When On Google Earth" having found the Gwailor fort Felix Bossert placed as WOGE 112. Since I made the mistake of leaving the coordinates in the previous site (which was in the southern hemisphere), I'm posting this new location, a little easier too.

Try to find the location of the picture and put it in the comments.

WOGE 113, corregido

I have also made a compilation of the first 100 challenges of the game which is available from this link, a KMZ file for -of course- GoogleEarth.

The rules of the game:

Q: What is When on Google Earth?
A: It’s a game for archaeologists, or anybody else willing to have a go!
Q: How do you play it?
A: Simple, you try to identify the site in the picture.
Q: Who wins?
A: The first person to correctly identify the site, including its major period of occupation, wins the game.
Q: What does the winner get?
A: The winner gets bragging rights and the chance to host the next When on Google Earth on his/her own blog!

The theme of the WhenOnGoogleEarth challenge should be an archeological one.

More info and previous challenges in the Facebook group.

The church is the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios which was built in 1594 on the top of
the Great Pyramid of Cholula, [Tlachihualtepetl], in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico, this temple/pyramid complex being constrcted from from the 3rd century BCE through the 9th century CE

Hi Eloy

I seem to have commented anonymously!
I don't speak Spanish so I may have missed something.

You are correct with the location of Cholula pyramid, and church. It is your turn (again)...

No, it is a problem with the software, don't show the names, but they appear in the list of comments (link at left: 'comentarios'). The next time I hope to have fewer problems (blunders).

Hi Eloy
When on Google Earth 114 now on line;

Don't worry about problems, I've messed up just about every aspect of posting WOGE, in the past, even got the scale wrong recently; and as for blogging software - don't get me started ...

Hi Eloy!

Thank you for putting everything together into a KML file - an excellent thing to have! It's interesting to see where most of the emphasis has been in WOGE so far. Hopefully we'll start to see more sites in south east asia, oceania!

Hi Eloy,

Have to agree, I've had a chance to play with it, and it's a great bit of work, thanks.

I'm glad you like it, the global view gives many ideas. I think that can be completed with some more information, but is a lot of work. May be it is more simple if we collaborate. I have 100 to 113, when I return I'll send it to the appropriate poster at the time (I'm travelling).
